Deep
Sea Fishing Excursion
Some would classify our day spent deep sea fishing as a
success and others would not (I would classify it as a success... my husband
would not) J.
What I feel made it a success… we caught fish… and more than just one.
Combined, I would say we hooked and reeled in 10ish fish (2 were mine J). My husband almost reeled
in a really big fish but the fish broke the line… like shredded the line. The
fish was so big… my husband’s rod was almost bent in half. He thinks it was a
King Fish. With all that my husband would probably still deem it an unsuccessful
fish because… yes we caught fish… and even some of them were big enough to be
classified as keepers… but my husband did not feel they were large enough to be
keepers. Another thing that I feel made it successful is that neither one of us
got sea sick. Granted, I could not go in the cabin and had to stay on the deck
all day, even got a little sunburned (almost a lobster but not full lobster);
but we stayed well none the less. Lastly, the thing I feel would classify this
trip as a huge success is… even though my husband caught more fish…. I still
caught the BIGGEST fish!! J
My Amber Jack (The biggest Fish we/I caught) All our "keeper" fish!
I did learn a lesson about less drowsy -Dramamine (http://dramamine.com/en/Products/Less_Drowsy.aspx) this past weekend. My husband says we should
take it the day before we go out fishing so that way it is already in our
system. So we took it the day before at 7am, Thursday, a work day. Yep, I almost
fell asleep at my desk ALL day!!! I could not stay awake for the life of me. I might
as well have taken a sleeping pill. L But
the up side of this is… I knew it would make me tired on the day of fishing, so
I took it the night before and had a good night sleep and was able to stay
awake all day to fish. If only I would have known this 5 years ago when I went
deep sea fishing... I might have done more fishing and less sleeping!! J
The first thing that happened (from what I heard/ put
together): My sweet friend was kneeling to the side in an inflatable, when a
boy came bounding around the corner and her nose/lip collided with his
knee/foot. L The
upside is the nose is not broken, just swollen … but a tooth did get chipped.
Very sad day… her laser tag adventure ended here. This was the only “major
injury”. A finger did get stepped on and later swelled and we had an eye and
another swollen hand.
As far as the
laser tag games went we did two games of boys vs. girls. The girls won the
first game… the boys the second. We all
started in the hallway and then we would run into the room and find our spots.
Most of the girls went for high sniper positions (myself included), so that
left the boys pretty much out in the open. Before the game started the workers had
thrown out some random inflatable barricades. These barricades were meant for
people to be able to have a place to hide out in the middle. Did the boys just
stand behind the barricades to shoot? No. Of course not… why would they even
think of just standing there? The silly boys picked up the barricades and
walked/ ran around where ever they wanted with their own little (but really
they were pretty large) barricade/shield blocking their vest and just shooting
away!! Silly Boys!
Sorry the video is not upright.. but still funny none the less. Just tilt your head a little! ;)
Well this is not all we did this weekend… but this post is already extremely long so I will end it now! J !!
