Bithday Weekend Review

So, like expected this weekend was crazy busy… but it was also crazy FUN!!
Deep Sea Fishing Excursion
Some would classify our day spent deep sea fishing as a success and others would not (I would classify it as a success... my husband would not) J. What I feel made it a success… we caught fish… and more than just one. Combined, I would say we hooked and reeled in 10ish fish (2 were mine J). My husband almost reeled in a really big fish but the fish broke the line… like shredded the line. The fish was so big… my husband’s rod was almost bent in half. He thinks it was a King Fish. With all that my husband would probably still deem it an unsuccessful fish because… yes we caught fish… and even some of them were big enough to be classified as keepers… but my husband did not feel they were large enough to be keepers. Another thing that I feel made it successful is that neither one of us got sea sick. Granted, I could not go in the cabin and had to stay on the deck all day, even got a little sunburned (almost a lobster but not full lobster); but we stayed well none the less. Lastly, the thing I feel would classify this trip as a huge success is… even though my husband caught more fish…. I still caught the BIGGEST fish!! J
My Amber Jack (The biggest Fish we/I caught)                                                All our "keeper" fish!
I did learn a lesson about less drowsy -Dramamine (http://dramamine.com/en/Products/Less_Drowsy.aspx) this past weekend. My husband says we should take it the day before we go out fishing so that way it is already in our system. So we took it the day before at 7am, Thursday, a work day. Yep, I almost fell asleep at my desk ALL day!!! I could not stay awake for the life of me. I might as well have taken a sleeping pill. L But the up side of this is… I knew it would make me tired on the day of fishing, so I took it the night before and had a good night sleep and was able to stay awake all day to fish. If only I would have known this 5 years ago when I went deep sea fishing... I might have done more fishing and less sleeping!! J

 Inflatable Laser Tag Birthday Party
So as fun and eventful as deep sea fishing can be, it was not the highlight of this weekend in my perspective!! We still had the birthday party with friends doing Inflatable Laser Tag! THIS WAS AWESOME!!! We had the best time… at least I would say 98% of the people had a good time. One of my friends got injured with-in the first couple of minutes of the first game. :( But when you stick a bunch of adults on Inflatables… the lightest one probably still in the 120’s, things can happen... and they did!

The first thing that happened (from what I heard/ put together): My sweet friend was kneeling to the side in an inflatable, when a boy came bounding around the corner and her nose/lip collided with his knee/foot. L The upside is the nose is not broken, just swollen … but a tooth did get chipped. Very sad day… her laser tag adventure ended here. This was the only “major injury”. A finger did get stepped on and later swelled and we had an eye and another swollen hand.
As far as  the laser tag games went we did two games of boys vs. girls. The girls won the first game… the boys the second.  We all started in the hallway and then we would run into the room and find our spots. Most of the girls went for high sniper positions (myself included), so that left the boys pretty much out in the open. Before the game started the workers had thrown out some random inflatable barricades. These barricades were meant for people to be able to have a place to hide out in the middle. Did the boys just stand behind the barricades to shoot? No. Of course not… why would they even think of just standing there? The silly boys picked up the barricades and walked/ ran around where ever they wanted with their own little (but really they were pretty large) barricade/shield blocking their vest and just shooting away!! Silly Boys!

Sorry the video is not upright.. but still funny none the less. Just tilt your head a little! ;)

After running in the dark for an hour playing “inflatable laser tag” the junior high school kid in everyone came out. We put our laser vest away and got creative with the slide!! My favorite part was us trying to blob each other ((Someone would sit on one side of an inflatable (aka the barricades the boys previously ran around with) while someone else jumped on the other side and then went flying somewhere)) …. This is where head and neck aches came into play!! One of the unexpected things that happened is…. There were like 4-5 of us at the top of the inflatable slide, then my husband comes up there too (my husband is 6’7… a big guy) and I can tell the slide is kind of losing air… so I decide to slide down before it deflates and to get some of the weight off. Next thing I know my husband is laughing so hard he is crying… and tells us one of our friends is caught in the net (the net that is at the back of the slide to keep people from falling out) behind the slide. So with all the weight up there the back of the slide collapsed and someone rolled into the net and was stuck in the net between the wall and the slide. Everyone was trying to help him up but that only made the back of the slide deflate and go down further. So finally every one realized they needed to get off so the slide would re-inflate. Once every one got down… he was able to crawl out. After he was out I went back up there to slide… and I see one of the girls crawling out of the net too!! We had no idea there were 2 people stuck in the net… CRAZZY!! But no one got hurt with this and we all thought it was hilarious!!

Almost Everyone at the Party!!

Well this is not all we did this weekend… but this post is already extremely long so I will end it now! J !!
But overall I would say my husband had a fabulous Birthday!! Not sure how we can top this for his 30th… Any suggestions?

So what have been some of your favorite birthday parties???

Byron's Last Birthday in the 20's Weekend!!

So we live crazy busy lives my husband and I. It seems we always have something going on… and we thoroughly enjoy it! Even on the weekends we have nothing planned they still get stocked full of activities!!! So on the agenda for this weekend is…. My husband’s Last Birthday in the 20’s!!!!! Yipee!!! I love birthdays!!His actual birthday is this Friday June, 8th but we will be celebrating it all weekend!! The plan for the actual day of his birthday is to go deep sea fishing (weather permitting). My husband LOVES fishing!!!! He loves being on the water and the thrill of the catch!! So we will spend all day Friday (sun up to sundown) out on the water catching big fish (hopefully)!!!!

Every other Saturday (since January) my husband, I and our Sunday School class have been volunteering for a Children’s Center here in Houston. We absolutely LOVE it. We take a couple hours every other week to invest in the life of these teenagers and it is soo rewarding! This week however we will be taking it easy… as far as lesson’s are concerned! We will be playing volleyball with the girls and basketball with the boys. WooHOO!!

So after we volunteer on Saturday we will be having my husband’s second birthday celebration, but this time it will include our friends. We will be going to Inflatable Laser Katy (http://www.inflatablekaty.com/inflatables.htm) and playing Laser Tag in a large room while we get to Jump, Shoot and hide on inflatables (Jump Jumps)!! I am so excited!!! I don’t know who is more excited me or the Birthday boy!!!

To finish out our weekend, we will go to a to a swim party with our Sunday school after class Sunday. Then we will head over to his parents for hubby’s final birthday celebration for his 20’s.

I love having good times with Family and friends. I feel that we are truly blessed and so thankful  for all the Lord has given us!!!
My husband's 28th Birthday!!!

P.S. For my hubby’s actual Birthday present I got him Sanuks  a khaki pair and a “Mossy Oak Duck Blind” pair from Gander Mountain http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Sank-Mens-Vagabond-Mossy-Oak-Sandal-Shoe&i=445237&aID=502F1A&merchID=4006. My husband also LOVES Duck hunting or fowl hunting!!

What are some good presents that you give to the man in your life? If he doesn’t specifically tell me what he wants …. I am soo lost!!! Any suggestions would be great for the future!!!
